Still Celebrating Easter

The cross was still at the centre of worship yesterday at Boscombe - adorned by a prayer chain created by our youngsters it provided a focal point for our worship on the Sunday after Easter. The contribution of the Band to the Holiness Meeting of Dean Goffin's The Road to Emmaus was most both appropriate and appreciated.

Easter at Boscombe

For many years the Easter weekend at Boscombe has been a special time for people from all around the Salvation Army world. This year, with our special guests Staines Songsters and the leaders for the weekend Majors Paul and Jenine Main, proved to be a fitting continuation of a fine tradition.

A Prelude to Easter

Hot on the heels of our visit to Lower Earley it was the Band's turn to provide a concert for a Sunday Evening. Mindful of the time of year within the Christian calendar the chosen theme was A Prelude to Easter and the programme mixed band items, songs and Scripture. A fitting start to what is always a busy and important part of the year for Boscombe Corps.

Easter comes Earley!

The Band undertook its first 'away' engagement of the year with a visit to Reading and the Corps at Lower Earley. After an uneventful journey and a filling tea we settled in to enjoy the concert. The report that follows comes from Dean Jones and you can also see the full programme.

Nuptial Witness

The Band had the opportunity to witness to an almost full hall at the wedding of Andrew Main to our Songster Leader, Helen Batt. With both the bride and the groom linked to schools there were a lot of people who had never before had the opportunity to sample the atmosphere and the worship at an Army service. The Band provided music before and during the service.
